Site Check II

Bram's picture

Though we can find out a lot about a site by looking at the About page (if there is one) and others, we need to leave the site to find out more - like who owns it and what other people think about it.  These are "lateral" looks - neither "upstream" (where the content comes from) nor "downstream" (where the content gets used).

After quickly exploring the reputation of the site, if we think it merits further exploration, it makes sense to engage more deeply with the content, which takes more time.
